Completely different thing: Nvidia showed Quake 2 with RTX support
Game developers are still in no hurry to add support for RTX technology https://it.trade-x.com.ng/page-spillikins-55-lamentele-per-il-roaming-e-tristezza-per-nokia to their projects. So Nvidia decided to add ray tracing to a Quake 2 fan mod on its own.
What it looks like
In addition to advanced lighting, Quake 2 RTX uses high resolution models and textures taken from the Quake 2 XP project. Also added support for Nvidia Flow for fire, smoke and particle effects. Compared to other fan crafts, Nvidia’s mod looks much neater and more natural, especially in dynamics. But with the addition of RTX, the game loses its zest and takes on a completely different atmosphere. It is as if we are in an attraction under the open summer sky, and not on a planet choking on pollution. So as a demo it’s fine, but connoisseurs would rather prefer the OpenGL version.
