Update December 13, 2013:

The US Department of State issued a statement on December 13, 2013 stating that some countries have the Right to Be Forgotten: US “does not rule in favor of national security interest. Further, the US Government does not believe that those who have not been detained or those who have been detained under international law or human rights laws unlawfully should be allowed to do this act of civil disobedience, or that the United States, which is the world’s leading ally in civil justice, will not rule against them” (p. 21).

In a statement released on December 13, the US State Department stated:

The U.S. Government recognizes that not all countries should be able to be detained under human rights law, and it believes that international law may be used to assist and facilitate those who pose a substantial risk of detention. Moreover, because it is the law of the land, the United States recognizes that certain international groups are barred from being deprived of their citizenship. Accordingly, the Department of State reiterates that the U.S. Government finds that rights of citizens should be protected as set out in Article 51 and the Optional Protocol on Human Rights, with the exception of civil rights violations or other violations as well as violations of human rights legislation, as international law.
